Abaddon was once one of the biggest cities around. It had the best Universities, the biggest libraries and in the lower districts plenty of clubs and bars. Thousands of people called Abaddon home, but when the war was raging people started to worry. Abaddon was in the center of the chaos. As each religion fought against each other, they used the city as a base. It became unsafe and people soon left for the sanctuary of the mountains.
What Humans did stay hid. The city fell into ruins as the fires took over everything. Many buildings are left empty. The Demons have taken over the government buildings as their base. Humans that still remain living in Abaddon live in some of the abandoned buildings hiding from the Demons and trying to continue on with their lives.
As for finding food in Abaddon, there are few markets with wheat and other simple foods. However, these come at very high prices. For people who can't afford to buy food, they must find other means of getting this. Trading is a common alternative. Clean water is found in the only remaining water fountain at the center of the city.
The downtown area is the darkest of them all. Demons are usually found goofing off and causing problems there. Other dark things such as Cambions are hidden in the shadows. Jobs downtown are usually in the entertainment business. Entertaining Demons and fulfilling their needs are common jobs, but pay very little. Along the outskirts of the city, other jobs may include rebuilding sections of the city. In the upper section of the city are the Demon's mansions. Built by Human slaves, these homes are gorgeous and elaborate, and are all homes to Demons and their slaves and pets.
The slave yard is what used to be the city park. This is full of different cages, filled with captured Humans to be sold to the Demons. This is really the only way Humans can make any serious money. However, it also means capturing your own kind and selling them to the Demons so this takes a certain kind of awful person.
